Chasing Deer to host special concert for the deaf music fans with vibrating balloons – Metro

An unsigned band host special live event for the inclusion of the deaf community.

Chasing Deer, who are considered by some as Britain’s biggest unsigned band, have designed an event that works to not excluded those hard of hearing.

No, we aren’t crying. You are.

The band – who will be launching their album Hands On at Bush Hall, West London next week – are taking a literal approach to the project’ title as they plan on welcoming deaf guests with sign language.

The guests will also be able to order a drink through an interpreter, buy some merch, and follow the entire concert – including the support acts.

And it doesn’t end there as audience members will also be given balloons to focus on vibration, and bass levels will be adjusted to resonate the sound waves for them so that they can be experienced with better clarity.

The concert will be taking place on 22 November and comes after the trio embarked on a campaign supported by the British Deaf Association and Sign Health and have released a single every month this year.

Each artwork for each song showed sign language gestures from a wide array of cultures and backgrounds including a 4-year-old mega-fan, a 90-year-old grandparent.

A great way of portraying music without sound.

The band, who are a regular feature on BBC Introducing, have also played twice at the Houses of Parliament and performed at President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Kenyan Music Festival performing their first two EPs Rewriting History and Moving On.

The album Hands On is released on the 30 November on Vinyl, CD/ and Streaming.
